JD Denny is known by his peers in the legal community for his ability to effectively and aggressively advocate, combined with the rare ability to communicate clearly to his clients. He explains in plain language the options in their specific case so that they can make the best choice for them as individuals. We feel fortunate to have JD on board at McPhie Law after his experience at one of the largest law firms in Arizona where he handled a high volume of cases at every level, up to among the most serious felony charges. He decided to come to McPhie Law to have the opportunity and freedom to focus more attention on each individual case and handle each client with the care they deserve, which aligns perfectly with our philosophy.

JD was raised in the Phoenix area and graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science. A graduate of Florida A&M University in Orlando, Florida (J.D. 2009), he earned top honors in Ethics. JD began his career with Judge Komanski’s Chambers in the Orange County Superior Court, focusing on criminal cases. He moved to Arizona and ran his own practice before being hired by a large Phoenix-based law firm, handling a high number of exclusively criminal/ DUI matters from all over the State from Justice Courts to the highest levels of Superior Court. He is licensed to in practice in Arizona State Courts and Arizona Federal District Court.

Mr. Denny moved to Arizona where he was admitted to the Arizona Bar Association in 2012 and has handled hundreds of criminal defense cases in Arizona, working with people from all over the state. While he was gaining tremendous experience in Criminal Law he also had an opportunity to teach American History and Constitutional Law classes at a local charter school. His passion, knowledge and exceptional experience for the Law and for the Constitution helped to grow a Criminal Justice program at the school, offering college credit to the students there.
